About Kristin

Award-winning soprano, Kristin Jensen, relocated to New York City this fall from the Phoenix area in Arizona, where she successfully ran a private voice studio for over six years. She also enjoyed a brief sojourn in Greeley, Colorado, and built a voice studio there as well. Kristin's students have regularly placed in top-auditioned honor choirs for high school students in the State of Arizona. Her students have produced and recorded their own albums, won voice scholarships to major universities, participated in local musical productions, grown in confidence and poise, and have gone on to enrich their lives & musical communities in significant ways.

Kristin obtained a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Florida State University, and a Master of Music in Opera Performance from Arizona State University. She has sung widely across the Western US and Canada, delighting audiences with her passionate performances and creamy voice. Kristin sang with Phoenix Opera for three seasons and has worked steadily as a church musician over the past several years. She recently sang the role of Adina in the Loveland Opera Theater's production of The Elixir of Love, and was featured as the First Lady in the New York Lyric Opera's concert version of The Magic Flute at the end of January 2010. Kristin raised the funds to produce her first CD, Till There Was You in 2008, which was released January 2009. She wrote an article about the experience for the December 2009 issue of Classical Singer, an internationally-circulated publication.

Kristin has trained extensively with success coach Dani Johnson in communication styles and personalities, which allows her to offer a unique service among voice teachers anywhere, tailoring lessons to each student's specific learning and communication style.
